We arrived here on a Sunday around 4:15 pm for dinner. We both ordered the beef rib with apple butter sauce. Our food arrived about 15 mins later. Their home made chippers were really good too. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Montana's BBQ & Bar:
Although I usually prefer independent restaurants, this chain restaurant does a good job with their food. The flavors are nice, portions are generous, and prices offer good value. View all feedback.
Took my husband here for his birthday dinner but ended up being very disappointed in the overall experience. Firstly, the service was extremely slow, we waited for over an hour for our meals. My tea came without any sugar, or a teaspoon, had to ask for both and the sugar came in a tiny little plastic bowl about about a spoonful of it, barely enough for my cup of tea. When I had a refill, again had to ask and again was given a tiny amount. A teaspoon never arrived, had to use my fork to stir it. My husband ordered a steak and and shrimp and a baked potato, and they came back saying sorry they run out of baked potatoes. So my husband had to have a steak with mashed potatoes. Also, his steak came without the shrimp he ordered, so again had to ask. I was just about running out of patience so needless to say, we won't be coming back.
This beef and (a.o.pork) ribs restaurant is quite big and has a nice rustic atmosphere. Service is pleasant and the food is very good. The choice of sauces and side dishes is ample and, again, good quality/taste. Definitely a place to visit again!
We have gone for lunch twice now and each time the service has been great and the food quite good. Both times we went on week days and it was quite quiet and not too crowded. Started with the four cheese dip which was quite good. The pita chips were excellent. Have had the steak and steak sandwich, both were tender and delicious, not too expensive. I got a side salad with my entree both times and neither were anything special. I think next time I will just indulge and get French fries. The salted caramel crunch dessert was OK but the shake ‘n share donuts are incredible! One of the best desserts I have had in a while.
We Had the dis-pleasure of dining here 16th December will never forget it !!!!! to start with our meal was cold so we asked for it to be heated up which they gladly done . We finished our meal and I had a Spanish coffee without cream luke warm I may add but that wasn't the worst of it low and behold when I was almost finished my coffee I noticed a few dead bugs in the bottom of the cup !!! .We discreetly brought this to the attention of our server (being in the trade this can happen if you don't have stoppers on high sugar liquors ). The duty manager then came to me and said she didn't know what to do I took her and showed her the bottom of all the liquor bottles and ture enough all the bottle had numerous dead bugs in them (she seemed horrified ). At that point she asked if we could wait till tomorrow and the General Manager would be in touch first thing .We paid our full bill and left. You would think that the GM would be in touch ASAP well I guess it wasn't a big issue to her as five weeks went by and after numerous calls from myself no reply .I had to take four days off sick from work by the way !!!. So it still goes on I reported this to their head office and told that someone would be in touch with me ASAP that was three weeks + ago I guess Montanna's don't care about their customers or what they serve them
My partner and I went to the Coquitlam Montana's for dinner in June. He had the ribs with Mexi corn and I had the hand carved steak. My partner's meat was okay, the mexi corn was a joke, it was a part of last corn cob, seriously, it was about 3 inches long. My hand carved steak with baked potato came on a plate that could only be described as a disgusting mess. I've ordered steak there many times and it has always been presented on a clean tidy plate. For some reason this time my medium cooked steak was swimming in meat juice. My baked potato was soggy from the meat juice. I asked the server for some napkins so I could soak up the juice from my plate. The person who served the plate was not the same person who took our order. Seriously, the plate never should have left the kitchen looking like that. In honesty I should have sent it back to the kitchen and called the manager over but I didn't. My partner suggested that I take pictures and post to social media but I didn't want to do that. Now I wish I had taken and posted the pictures. I contacted Montana's customer service that night and asked to be contacted. That was nearly a month ago. 1st I received an automated response that some one should be in contact with me within 2 business days. I waited almost 2 weeks and contacted them back to say that nobody had contacted me. They responded quite quickly to say that they had contacted the restaurant and someone should be in touch soon. Here we are another 2 weeks later and still no response. I truly feel they do not care about customers. We were going there pretty regularly, about every 3 a 4 weeks. We can find other places that appreciate our business. But what a big disappointment.
