Came here for lunch with my kids that devoured my lumpiang shanghai and pork skewers as soon as they came out hot and fresh. The noodles and ensaymada tasted great too. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Kulinarya Filipino Eatery:
I was in the mood for some Authentic Filipino cuisine for dinner, so I decided to give Kulinarya a try. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the quality of their food. The sisig was not as tasty as I had hoped, as it lacked flavor. View all feedback.
We had dinner here last week. It is located in a small mall behind Coquitlam Centre on Glenn Drive. It is a very small restaurant and chairs and tables were being rearranged during the evening when we dined here. They set up for 2 tables for participants of their Kamayan style dinner. It was very interesting to watch them set up for this – they load the table with rice and then pile on various dishes on top of the rice. The participants are supposed to eat with their hands – no forks – but I think it would be extremely messy not to mention unsanitary as many of the dishes were in cooked in sauces. One table asked for forks to use. The tables are very close together and as I mentioned they were constantly being rearranged while we were dining. I have to say I find it disconcerting to be eating my dinner and having a chair passed over my head while I’m dining. Not an experience I’m likely to repeat.Service was good. We were given a small dish of corn nuts to nibble on while we perused the menu. With helpful suggestions from the waitress we decided on crispy pata – pork hock that has been boiled and then deep fried so there is a crispy skin, Pancit Mala Bon – rice noodles with chicken, pork cracklings and shrimp meat and manok sa gata – chicken cooked in coconut milk with bits of pineapple. This is the first Filipino restaurant I’ve gone to since an old favorite ours in Vancouver closed. I have to say I found this experience to be very disappointing. Our old favorite had a nicer ambiance and the prices were about the same as what we paid at Kulinarya. The food was also considerably better. Some of the crispy pata – the meat not the skin was very dry. I could not see any pork cracklings in the noodles and the shrimp was so miniscule as to be almost non existent. I think my husband got all 4 or 5 pieces of the ½” pieces of shrimp. The chicken was just fair. Not an enjoyable evening at all. For the price I would rather go elsewhere.

2nd time here not a fancy place but awesome authentic Filipino food had the coconut rice, crispy patta and other stuff it was yummy. My wife is Filipino and you know it's good when she says it reminds her of home. Great people work there it's a family business so show them love with the tips. I highly recommend it.
Very cheerful staff and excellent food. Try to be there to watch when they do the banquet table (or better, get a group of people going and order it yourself) - what a show, plus excellent choice from all what they cook.
Kulinarya is my go to place when ordering take out foods for home gatherings. My family and my guests like the pancit, pork bbq, lechon kawali, kare-kare and pinakbet.
