In their effort to become a “safe space” they completely destroyed themselves. If you’re not LGBT, no entry. And the bouncers are extremely condescending and just all around awful. Go to Culturebox or Hotel Cecil instead.

Jolene, once a vibrant and lively nightclub, has unfortunately lost much of its former glory. As a regular visitor over the years, I 've witnessed significant changes that have left me to decide not to come back. First and foremost, the music scene has taken a turn for the worse. The energetic and diverse playlists that once attracted a wide range of partygoers have been replaced with monotonous and uninspiring beats. It 's disappointing to see the lack of effort put into curating an engaging musical experience. Moreover, the shift in the personnel 's attitude has been disconcerting. In its atempt to create a left-wing safe space, the approach taken at Jolene often feels excessive and alienating, and the result is the direct opposite of fostering an inclusive atmosphere. Upon entry, everyone is bombarded with questions about what it takes and means to be a nice human , and how not to hurt anyone 's feelings. While promoting respect is great, the extreme and very forced emphasis on it detracts from the carefree and enjoyable ambiance that once organically attracted a very diverse group of people. It 's regrettable to witness the decline of Jolene, as it used to be a hotspot for nightlife enthusiasts. I hope the management takes note of these concerns and finds a balance that allows the club to regain its former vibrancy and appeal.

They told us it was closing at 3:00-3:30am and it actually closed at 2:00am, 30 minutes after we arrived.

I had one of the most incredible experiences at Jolene a few weekends ago, it is hands of one of my favorite places to go in Copenhagen soley, based on how safe and comfortable I felt there. It was the first time that I actually saw a secure spatial policy implimented and had the feeling that the staff took it seriously and really cared for the healing of the night and that themselves and all guests felt comfortable and had such a great time. I think a part of it was due to the fact that so many lgbtq people are represented in the staff. Seriously, I'm waiting to come back.
