Description
At Coolongolook, visitors report mixed experiences. While some appreciate the clean store and delicious pies, others are disheartened by the condition of the bathrooms, describing them as filthy and in urgent need of cleaning. Concerns about water access for refills also surfaced, leading to frustrations over the insistence on bottled purchases. Despite the occasionally grumpy attendants, the location remains a popular pit stop for travelers, thanks to its convenient fuel options and tasty food. Overall, Coolongolook offers a blend of quality offerings and cleanliness issues that potential patrons should weigh before visiting.

I was driving Uber from Newcastle to Nelson Bay and stopped to refuel my vehicle. I was initially on the left side and noticed a Mobil station, but I took a right turn to fuel at BP because I wanted to use the rewards provided by Uber. However, the staff refused to apply the discount, and I’m not sure why. I was really disappointed with the service.
This busy café is fantastic, and there's a park across the street where pets can play and run around.
There’s a large sign out the front stating DIESEL $1.929 yet on the pump I was charged $1.979 that’s 5cents per litre rip off and it goes on probably every day
I regularly travel up and down the highway. Usually call in. Excellent coffee with free biscuit, real chicken nuggets, great pies, fresh made sandwiches and you can get wholemeal bread. Very reasonably priced. It's a winner!!
