Ardy's Cafe - Coolin
Ardy's Cafe
Description
Nestled near Priest Lake, this cozy, family-run café charms with warm decor, a gift shop, generous burgers, fluffy pancakes, excellent breakfast and creative specialty nights (Thai, pho). Guests praise attentive, friendly staff, patio/outdoor seating and a kid- and dog-friendly vibe—ideal for campers and families passing through. However, consistency is an issue: service can be slow or inattentive, orders sometimes arrive late or incomplete, and a few fried dishes tasted greasy. Worth a stop for breakfast or a casual meal, but expect variable kitchen performance.

Ordered some vegetable pho type soup. It was nothing but beef broth, noodles , not a single veggie in it, a few pieces of meat. Husband was clear about the issue and no apology or effort to change the situation. Gave us a discount on the meal.
I noticed a back patio area, but my own anxiety kept me from exploring it; I'm always a bit uneasy in other people's spaces, so we stuck to the front. Right beside us was a charming gift shop within the restaurant, featuring an array of delightful treats and trinkets, including an entire section dedicated to huckleberry products and some nice clothing. We bought a cute funfetti moose stuffed animal for our daughter, and the prices were quite reasonable. You could tell a lot of care had gone into creating the space. The team members worked together seamlessly, almost like family. They were polite and friendly, though we didn’t chat much. Our food arrived promptly and with a nice presentation. The burgers were absolutely delicious and quite substantial! My husband and I love to eat, but we easily could have shared one burger and still felt satisfied. The pancakes were incredibly fluffy and delightful! It was the perfect meal to cap off our celebratory night of camping. During the bill payment, I briefly spoke with one of the servers, or perhaps the restaurant owner? I’m not sure. We shared a moment reflecting on lost loved ones and how time has a way of catching up with everyone, reminding us to cherish what we have. I truly hope the restaurant continues to thrive, filled with wonderful people and even more delicious food. Oh, and I just checked their website—they have a Thai and pho night! What a fantastic concept! As for kid-friendliness, there was ample space for the little ones to play while waiting for food. We were next to a small gravel road where a young boy riding his bike was very friendly and showed our kids his toys. It was such a sweet interaction! Also, don’t miss the gift shop—it’s a real gem!
Fantastic place for lunch! The atmosphere is lively and enjoyable. It wasn’t too crowded, and the service was excellent. Parking is a breeze with a spacious lot that offers plenty of space.
We visited over Labor Day weekend with a group of 10, and surprisingly, we were seated in a timely manner, especially considering the size of our party on a Sunday morning. The food was fantastic! However, what truly stood out during our visit was the service. Carissa was exceptional! She went above and beyond to make my friend's birthday feel special, made our kids feel welcomed, and really enhanced our breakfast experience. We will definitely be returning!
