There was a family group of 16 or so celebrating a birthday. The restaurant was nicely appointed and roomy enough for such a big table. I find it hard to judge a restaurant when they have a large group but everyone seemed to like their meals. I had linguini with chicken bacon, mushrooms and cream and it was tasty. My wife had barramundi which she rated. Others had snitties that looked good. Will definitely return. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Cricketers Arms:
I had the pan fried barramundi for lunch. I think it was a left over from the day before and reheated in the oven for me. I couldn't cut right through it to get a decent mouthful. I had to scrape away at the dried-out flesh and left the hard base of the skin of the fish on my plate. I was a dreadful meal. View all feedback.
Our go to place for great meals, good service, and a wonderful atmosphere in beautiful surrounds. the prices are good as are the size of the meals and the presentation
I returned to The Cricketers Arms with friends for a catch up lunch. The manager had seated us in a lovely terraced area off the main dining room all to ourselves but still part of the action. I have to say the lunch deals...are incredible value and delicious. I had a chicken schnitzel burger, yum. The wine is reasonably priced and there's a lovely dessert menu. Friendly efficient service was demonstrated in abundance. The place was full with a Friday lunch crowd having a great time. What impressed me greatly was at the rear outdoor roofed area there was a large group of special needs people that ranged from late teens to older. They were having a great time out there having food and fellowship. Occasionally they popped into the dining room area with great excitement. Everyone took this in their stride and the management obviously welcome their presence. Marvellous, and what a great compliment to the pub
And lunch specials available Monday through to Friday. Good variety of choices and good portion meals. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere
You cannot go past the decor, food, pricing and service of this Newcastle local. Love the atmosphere and the decor of the pub, comfortable chairs and plenty of room to move around in the dining room and the covered outside area. The menu choices are...great as are the portion sizes
I was here for a Saturday lunch with a large group after a special function. I must say they coped quite well. The surroundings are extremely pleasant. We were well looked after. There was quite a time lapse in waiting for meals but that was...to a certain extent understandable. My caesar salad with chicken was delightful, not swimming in dressing. Light and crisp with good ratio of ingredients. They kindly gave us a cob loaf for each table while we waited which was appreciated. I'd like to go back with a smaller group
