I have dined at this restaurant multiple times with a large group of people. The food was well-prepared and the service was excellent. The flavors were perfect and truly authentic Mexican. The menu is extensive with plenty of options to choose from. Despite the competition in the area, this place stands out as one of the best. My personal favorite is probably the quesadilla fajita or burrito fajita. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Rey's Mexican Grill:
My dining experience at this Mexican restaurant was disappointing. Although the server was nice, it felt like we were forgotten about on the back terrace even though we were the only patrons there. The beverage glasses were not suitable for serving drinks, as they seemed to only hold one or two shots of alcohol per drink. This resulted in drinks that were not properly mixed and tasted terrible. Rey’s Mexican Grill was great!! The margaritas is the best I have ever tried and they also have so many selections. I will return!
Rey's has become our favorite Mexican restaurant in Cookeville. They are always busy but never crowded. The food is as good as any you'll find. They have solid chips, salsa, queso, ground beef, and margaritas. Trust me when I say they will not let you down.
Under previous management, my husband and I stopped here a few times. It was good Mexican food, and margaritas were exceptional! In passing by, we noticed it had changed hands, and decided to try the new owners. While the margaritas are still very good, the food is lacking. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of rice so they substitute retried beans for me. There are NO beans just soupy sauce! Main selections are just okay. My husband says the rice is mediocre. Not terribly impressed with severs either tipped salsa a bit, and asked for napkins to clean it up, but attitude was less than understanding, and definitely not helpful. She was cleaning blinds, and paid no attention to the glare on her customers didn’t matter. Guess we put her out! Won’t be stopping there again.
Honestly, one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at. Whenever I am in this area of TN I have to stop.
Everything we had was amazing and the margarita came in such a fun pitcher. The restaurant was beautiful and service was fast and good. Loved it!
