I ordered the French Dip and the Southwest Chicken and Avocado. The French dip was hot and good. This is my first time ordering that salad and it comes with alot of ingredients. The Chili Lime dressing is really good. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mcalister's Deli:
Dirt (or mud, clay, whatever) in my chicken salad sandwich that covered my mouth in this weird gritty grey substance when I took a bite. Absolutely disgusting and UNSANITARY! The manager did not show any care and I had to ask for my sandwich to be comped. Not coming back. Would not recommend to anyone ???????????? View all feedback.

My baked potato was good and fresh, and I like that I can customize my order. I can pick what kind of cheese, how much, etc.. just the 1/2 spud is a good size potato!
We lived in Cookeville for three years now and finally tried McAlister?s deli. After all there?s 213 places to eat in this town so it took us a while to try this one. What a pleasant surprise. McAlister?s deli is a small chain fast food deli. If you eat in their large dining room you get real silverware and a heavy plates. These are their $10 salads and they are delicious. Lots of chicken, strawberries, blueberries, greens, candy pecan pieces and fat free raspberry vinaigrette. It?s a big full meal for only 380 calories. By the way hats off to David. Not only does he greet you and keeps the large dining room spic and span. But remembers you from past visits.
The food was good. The staff was friendly. The order taker asked both in our group if they wanted a pickle with their sandwich. They both said yes and neither got a pickle. Not a big deal, but why ask if you're not going to give it anyway. Also, the soups and au jus for a sandwich were served in Styrofoam drink cups. That was awkward. Will we come back? Absolutely. The attention to details are a little disappointing on this visit. I would call this a bad night. Normally, this restaurant is reliable.
Tons of menu items not available. Like over half. Did not even have chicken but did not say until after you waited through the line and got to counter. Prices are very high for amount or quality of food. A simple potato with scraps of meat on it cost way to much there. Staff were not trained or in gear for their opening. No lemonade or tea available. Drink machine was still locked and staff were standing around. Won't be returning. Not for the prices. Not for the staff. And not because it tasted good. It was alright but not nothing special worth 50$ for 2 adults and 2 kids with drinks (with half the drink menu missing)
