Just had dinner there last week and I feel that El Tap continues to serve good food, and has done so since it's opening several decades ago. I love their salsa and chips; I particularly like that it has no cilantro since cilantro always tastes bitter to me. Their cheese dip great, too! My favs at El Tap are choripollo, quesadilla relleno and the Jalisco (chicken, beef shrimp) fajitas over rice with cheese on top. The... View all feedback.
What Shannon Cooper doesn't like about El Tapatio On Jefferson:
Ordered the same thing we always get , husband brings it home and we open it and I included a picture of what we got and a pic on how it's suppose to come. I call and he wants to argue with me it's correct and I'm wrong then after telling me they will remake it after telling him we live in livingston not cookeville, he hangs up on me. View all feedback.
I love this place! The service is always AMAZING! The food is always perfect definitely recommend
Update.. I got takeout. Salsa was very bland, it was like eating tomatos out of a can. The steak was very fatty. Beans refried beans very bland. Not surd if they can afford any seasoning or I went on bad day, but it wasn't good. 4 yrs ago. We went there on a Sunday afternoon for lunch time. And of course it was busy, but we got seated quick and service was good. The food was really good. I had the steak chimichanga, which was awesome. I loved it. For me. The rice was a little spicy, but that's just me., the other plate is tacos, and I forgot what the other thing was my child had but he really enjoyed the right so I gave him my rice. . I would definitely go here again if I wasn't Cookeville. And we're glad we went there.
Been here numerous times usually pretty good, but this time our server had a party of 8, 4 and 3 he seemed to be more interested in bigger party as he was looking at them while taking our order rushing us like we were and inconvenience to him as was already mad about he took order of the 3 top that got sat after us, I have served and I know you should never rush or make a customer feel rushed. Will go back but will definitely make sure to not have that server again. I have seen busy I served in Pigeon Forge Tn and I know he would not last it a tourist community bc he was not good!!!

They've added new items in recent years, both American and Mexican options, so there's bound to be something for everyone to enjoy.
They catered for 50 people for us. It was a great price and soooo much food. It probably was more for 75. They had everything packaged well to stay warm and they also loaded my car. Food was also very delicious!
