The newly renovated air conditioned Sushigoi is sensational, with very fresh seafood. You sit at a classy marble bench top under a stunning glass fish sculpture. As the sushi train goes past you, you just grab what you want. The staff are courteous and helpful, getting us fresh wasabi and ginger when requested. What Malcolm Y doesn't like about Sushigoi:
This place is massive missed opportunity , since it reopening it is such a disappointment , the staff all look bored , looking at their phones in the middle of the restaurant including the chef. I asked for a takeout like I have done a million times and it was like watching paint dry the chef was so slow . Makes you wounded why these guys get into hospitality in the first place . Food is average . For the only sushi... View all feedback.
Prepare yourself ahah I used to come 2, maybe 3 times a week to this place, with family or friends or just by myself eva use this place WAS so great, since it’s renovation it’s completely busted : i’ve been trying to remain positive about it for a long time i’m talking years) but every time i’ve gone it’s been subpar using nice words here the entire appeal of the restaurant has been stripped, somehow they chose a new design that makes the same space actually feel smaller than what it is, it’s super dull prison cell vibes. if you haven’t been you won’t know what i mean but if youve been you know lol, that’s the least important part, none of the hours they list are correct, the kitchen closes when the employees decide they want to go home, past that they barely pay attention to you when you’re at the door or when you’re actually sitting down to eat , i’m not exaggerating, i once sat for 15 minutes to try get my bill : when it was nearly empty, again trying to remain positive lol. i’ve tried to go to the restaurant for the past 2 days to find they’ve closed *hours* before they’re actually supposed to. the staff in general are seemingly not managed by anybody or they’re literally just lazy, again this is the nicest way i can put it. they do not have any sense of customer service. the food is so average always has been but it was the only place in coogee with past tense) nice and efficient staff, they weren’t being slaved or rushing but i mean the people currently there don’t give a fk about their work tbh. been a coogee local my whole life and this place will not last another year if something doesn’t change : hurts my heart to rate 1 star but whoever runs this place needs to pull their head out of the sand, they’re missing out on so much money. switch it up asap, or at least make sure the people you hire know they’re working at a sushi restaurant : good luck

If you want a quick healthy lunch after a swim at the beach, this is the best spot in Coogee. Enjoy.
Don’t bother. Not authentic in any way. Service terrible. At 8:50 they basically kicked us out. Extremely rude and ungrateful for the business. BAD!!!!
This sushi joint has an offer where all plates are 3.50 or 3.90 Monday Thursday. Great value. The ebi prawn tempura is great but ask for it fresh so it is hot rather than off the line. Recommend!
This is a fabulous lunch ’drop in’ when you can only find a half hour parking spot along Coogee Bay Rd! It went a bit ‘off‘ for a while but has now returned to its excellent high standard. The raw fish is very fresh and the dishes are very tasty. I recommend you order the Inari flying fish roe snd yummy hot calamari. You can watch the chefs at work as you pick a dish from the ‘train’ being regularly replenished. A quick healthy light lunch. Very fresh and very tasty! Origato gazaimus
