Amici - Conyers
Amici
Description
This neighborhood trattoria blends a cozy dining room, inviting outdoor seating and a lively bar with hearty pizzas, calzones and comfort dishes at fair prices. Highlights include generous slices, crisp fries and friendly servers, but inconsistency surfaces: slow service at times, occasional cold or undercooked plates, and limited vegan and kids’ drink options. Trivia and wing nights add appeal, making it a fun spot for casual lunches, group outings or relaxed evenings—just temper expectations for kitchen timing and some menu gaps.

Terribly disappointing experience. I waited an hour for a calzone despite there being only about 10 people in the restaurant. The first calzone I received was both burned and undercooked. When they brought me a second one, it was also burnt, and the pepperoni and cheese were a complete letdown. The pepperonis were raw and cold, and the cheese felt like it had just come out of the fridge—ice cold. I will never return to this place and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
The exterior of this restaurant was quite appealing. However, we had to clean our booth ourselves, and there were no juice or milk options for kids. Considering they have a bar, we decided to order pineapple juice, but that wasn't available either. In a bar? Really? The food arrived hot and looked great, but unfortunately, the taste was disappointing. I requested no vegetables on my burger, yet I found bits of lettuce mixed in with the meat. The fries were seasoned well, but overall, they lacked flavor.
Unfortunately, at Amici, the food took quite a long time to arrive, especially considering there were only a few customers in the restaurant. One of the dishes, a slice of cheese pizza, was served cold. My eight-year-old cousin didn’t complain but remained hungry by the end of the meal and chose not to order more, fearing it would take too long—something to keep in mind given how quiet the place was. Another dish was Alfredo pasta, which my cousin liked for its sauciness, but it had a noticeable layer of excess oil that pooled on top unless stirred constantly. It came with a slice of flatbread that was also cold. The vegan options on the menu were quite limited, consisting only of a side salad with house vinaigrette, hummus (not homemade), and fries. I opted for the salad and fries but was disappointed. The side salad was unappetizing, with wilted greens soaked in water that pooled at the bottom of the plate. The only bright spot was the three pieces of red onion, but the dressing was just olive oil with black pepper. I asked for the salad to be remade due to its lack of freshness, and while the waitress was willing to help, the second attempt was just as disappointing. The dressing was still lacking, and the bread slice was hard and cold. The fries, supposedly shareable, barely sufficed for one person. When I inquired about the portion size, the waitress simply smiled without answering. At that size, they’re definitely not suitable as an appetizer for sharing. Consequently, I left the meal feeling quite hungry. On a brighter note, the cheeseburger and fries looked delicious and my cousin enjoyed them. The Chicken Caesar salad seemed good, although it was heavily covered in bacon, which my cousin pushed aside. The buffalo chicken sub got a thumbs up, and the wings were also well-received. Overall, while Amici’s menu had some highlights, the slow service and a few cold dishes took away from the experience. It was a celebration, but it could have been much better.
Great lunch spot! This place came highly recommended by friends so we decided to stop in for lunch one afternoon. The service was just ok, not as attentive and the server forgot our order after not writing it down at the table. The drinks are good hereand reasonably priced. My drink was delicious (strong but sweet). For my meal i chose the Amici's Cesar salad which was sooogood (full of flavor and the house made dressing is the cherry on top). I also had the chicken tenders tossed in sweet chilisauce with fries. The tenders were ok, a bit to breaded for my liking but the fries were extra crispy the way I like them. Protip-They have 1/2 wings Wednesday and trivia nights so if either are of interest to you be sure to check them out.
