What Megan C doesn't like about Dawson's Bar Restaurant:
The food at this restaurant was delicious, but unfortunately, the service was very poor. When my family of four arrived, our order was taken promptly and our drinks and appetizers arrived quickly. However, we waited over an hour for our main course and were informed that there had been a mistake with our order. We used to eat regularly here when it was Shakespeare’s and were surprised how average it was. The menu still said Autumn specials and it’s May . Menu was just like a pub menu but inflated prices . Staff very inexperienced albeit very sweet . Lack of non alcoholic drinks were surprising just beers and bottles just plonked on tables . My starter wasn’t available, why ? It’s a Saturday night . Meal was tasty but not memorable not even instagram photo worthy . Generally nothing like standard in past. Disappointing.
An excellent evening at the delightfully quaint Castle Hotel for dinner. The food was tremendous , Drinks properly chilled and good quality. Our waitress was Chloe. She’s a gift to service and attended to us with efficiency and charm. Thank you everyone for looking after us so well. We ll be back really soon.
After reading recent reviews, I was apprehensive about booking a table at this restaurant. However, the menu intrigued me with its gluten-free options, so we decided to give it a try. To our relief, there was no need to worry as the service and food were excellent. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and engaging with our two children. For my meal, I enjoyed the smoked haddock rosti with egg as a starter and the signature castle chorizo and haddock risotto as my main course, both of which were delicious. I finished with a mixed berry crème brûlée, which was equally satisfying. Our daughters ordered three courses from the children's menu, and to our surprise, the children's meals were complimentary when we received the bill. While the wine and cocktails were on the pricey side, almost £10 for a large glass, the overall experience of wonderful food and service makes this restaurant highly recommended.
The food at this restaurant was delicious, but unfortunately, the service was very poor. When my family of four arrived, our order was taken promptly and our drinks and appetizers arrived quickly. However, we waited over an hour for our main course and were informed that there had been a mistake with our order. While the food was good, we felt neglected as we were not given the opportunity to order dessert and had to go to the front desk to request our bill. The servers seemed more interested in chatting with other customers than attending to our needs. Overall, this was a disappointing experience for our last night in Conwy. I would recommend skipping this restaurant and dining at the Erskine Arms or another establishment instead.
