I ate here with my husband and 4 friends during our through trip to Pittsburgh on the GAP trail. This was my husband's and my 10th time biking the GAP. The trail keeps getting better, and this restaurant is another example of that. Delicious food, lovely outdoor deck (where we ate) and nice interior space too. All 6 of us enjoyed our meals. What Michelle Jordan doesn't like about Ruvo's Italian:
Ordered chicken parmijiana. Penne was only done al dente (firm, hard) and the sauce tasted like sauce from a can or a jar. Not homemade. The chicken was tough and dry. This is not authentic Italian food . There wasn 't anyone in the restaurant and they seated us next to the window. Mind you, it 's 20 degrees outside. We froze. My group of six cyclists was treated to a wonderful, family-style Italian meal with top notch service. This place is a must do for GAP trail cyclists that are looking to have a great meal that also replenishes a carb deficit. Reservations are a must!
Fresh made-to-order authentic Italian food in a lovely Main Street vibe with Italian music for added atmosphere. The chef cooks your dishes in a kitchen that you can view. BYOB with a small corking fee. Everything is delicioso!
Stayed in Connellsville during a recent ride on the GAP trail and the front desk at our hotel recommended Ruvo's Italian Restaurant. So glad she did because the whole experience was EXCELLENT! Great food, great service, and the owner treated us like family. Definitely worth a stop.
Have enjoyed Ruvos several times...generous portions..small quaint dining area..nice..friendly staff..and did I mention the food is great
