What Robert Meader doesn't like about Mei Ling Inn Chinese Thai American:
Will never go back. Food was not great, they use ground pork rather than actual pieces. Overpriced for what you get. Pretty disappointing as I just moved to this area, and they are the only thai or chineese food for miles around. View all feedback.
The food was uninspired and bland. To be fair, we ate their just before they closed for the month of July, so maybe they were out of spices, but we would not
Rare is the review from me that is a take-out experience, but these nice folks are still stuck in scamdemic mode, like it 's 2020. Their choice, so I will just shake my head and press on. Regardless, their Chin-Amer fare is absolutely fantastic. One look at their fried proteins will tell the tale. Those are hand-made on the spot, Cochise. Yang Tze Pork had great char sui flavor, and the sides were robust and delicious. We ordered from their 'family style ' menu, and for $17 per, it was one helluva lot of food. Wifey kept trying to order some other items, and I had to tell her we were already going to get pounded with the amount of food we had comin '. The leftovers in my fridge will testify to that little factoid. This little town in the middle of nowhere is quite fortunate to have this family to order from...

Stopped on our through town. They only serve take out and there is a small waiting area in the entrance. The old dining room is blocked off and full of boxes and kids things. There are no restrooms for customers. The portions are large and the prices reasonable. The food tasted more homemade than most Chinese restaurants not as salty or greasy. As others mentioned, the sweet and sour sauce is thin, as is the almond chicken sauce. The pork did appear to be chopped up and formed into meatball type shapes before battering and frying. But, the result was tender and delicious! The chop suey and fried rice were very mildly flavored, almost bland, but very fresh tasting. The chown mein noodles had a good wok hay flavor.Overall, the food was satisfying and didn't leave a heavy feeling after eating. You might be disappointed if you try to compare to offerings in big cities, but it's a nice, family run small business that was doing a steady business on a Tuesday night.
This place is absolutely amazing. I am surprised by the negative 3-4 reviews and felt that Mei Ling Inn Chinese Thai and American Restaurant was a 5 star and was really great. I would recommend this place.
