The Lonestar

Description

Nestled in historic downtown Concrete, this restaurant boasts a vibrant atmosphere and an extensive menu with something for everyone. Diners rave about the abundant breakfast offerings and generous portion sizes, consistently rating the food and service highly. However, mixed reviews highlight inconsistencies in cleanliness and attentiveness, particularly during busy periods. While the decor is charming, some tables were found sticky, and the seating could use an upgrade. Despite these drawbacks, friendly staff and wheelchair accessibility are notable positives. Overall, while many cherish the culinary delights, the experience can vary significantly based on timing and dining preferences.

This restaurant is absolutely charming! We nearly missed it while driving by, but we're so glad we didn't. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable! The service is excellent, and the country fried steak is truly delicious!

However, I immediately noticed that the table was sticky and unclean. When I mentioned it to the waitress, hoping she'd simply wipe it down, she told me it was just the varnish and walked away. As she left, I could hear her shoes sticking to the floor, and I also noticed an unpleasant odor—not the inviting smells of good food. My concerns about cleanliness grew, so I asked my husband to check a few other tables made of different wood, and unfortunately, they were all in the same poor condition. At that point, I decided I couldn't stay any longer. I informed the waitress that we would only be ordering drinks and asked for the check. Interestingly, she seemed much friendlier once she realized we were leaving and offered us to-go cups. We ended up paying $6 for our drinks, but they were soapy and undrinkable, forcing us to throw them out. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It was my first and last visit. On a positive note, the restaurant had decent wheelchair accessibility.

This was our first time here, and we had a fantastic experience! The food was excellent, the service was great, and the portions were generous—all at a reasonable price. They also have a children's menu. We will definitely be returning!

We wanted to have dinner here today. There was nothing going on, only 3 tables occupied. Everything seemed old and run down, the seats were broken or repaired with tape. And for the most part swivel chairs. The menu was put in front of us, but after 10 minutes no one even asked for drinks. We then left because of the uncomfortable atmosphere and the poor service
