I found this place as it was ranked the best in Atlanta on several websites, and it has lived up to the hype. Amazing artisanal pies, and excellent sides. Their “large salad” alone is worth the order, with a great house made vinaigrette. Even ordering delivery they were able to get the food out quickly, and the pizza arrived warm and delicious. What C3226NLchelseal doesn't like about Piazza San Gennaro:
We were really excited to try this pizza, but it didn’t live up to the hype. We ordered online and it said it would be ready in 20 minutes, we timed this coincide with when we could get there to pick it up, however we got a text literally 3 minutes later that it was ready. They set the pizza out to be picked up so it was of course cold when we got it. We got a white pizza and a margherita one. The white pizza we pick... View all feedback.

The other one was pretty good. We did enjoy the crust.
I am surprised that given the upper class clientele that shops at the Avalon that this place attracts the crowds it does. First off, there are basically 10 pizza options (5 red sauce, 5 white sauce) that you can select from, so forget ordering your favorite toppings. Secondly, the toppings are SPARSE. There is more dough than cheese and toppings. Fortunately, the dough is very good and they offer olive oil for dipping. A recent experience this past month was disappointing. When eating our pizza, we noticed that our hands were turning black. We realized it was the burn debris from the pizza oven that made its way onto the bottom of the crust.
It was a surprising great experience! My family and I were hanging out in Atlanta and my daughter 's friend said this restaurant was a great place to have a pizza. We accepted the suggestion and checked that out. You have seats in the kitchen where you can see all the pizzas and calzones being prepared and I can say the place where the food is being prepared is very clean. But we can not say the same about the tables probably because of the high quantity of people eating there at least the day we went. The ingredients are very tasteful and fresh and they have other ingredients (like a delicious olive oil and a great shredded cheese) to place on the food after it gets to your table. The pizza was really very good as my daughter 's friend said but it was a little pricy. It 's a good place to have an italian/american food experience. I definitely recommend!
Great find! Rivals any Napoletana I’ve had from San Francisco to Chicago. We ordered 2 pizzas and one calzone. All amazing. That was plenty of food to feed 5 (3 of which are teenage boys).
I am not a fan of NY pizza, therefore I did not like Antico. I was only able to order 1 opping, so I chose pepperoni. The sauce and cheese was sparsed. As soon as I opened the box, and saw this thin greasy pizza, I knew what time it was. First and last. I put Pappadeux's pizza above Antico.
