I had my first experience at a Jim N Nick's last night and it was wonderful! The food was really good but what made the experience so great was our server, Mai-Ling. She was absolutely delightful! She made great small talk with us, has a great sense of humor, and made sure to check on us frequently. She brought refills before our drinks were empty so we never had to ask. Normally, we give J N 5 stars, but they were out of chicken turkey, which left burgers, catfish, and pork..after a very long wait.. I wanted to leave, but we were hungry/long day. Hubby got a loaded potato (very small compared to previous visits), and we settled for burgers. Biscuits were welcome!!! Not their best showing, but our waitress was friendly and attentive. Really not as good as it has been in the past. Not sure what happened but disappointing. I won’t be going back.
While the food at Jim 'N Nick 's Bar-B-Q was outstanding, the service left much to be desired. Our waitress, Christina, seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed, leading to an excessive wait time of 30 minutes before she took our order. We were informed that ribs were unavailable, but the manager, Christine, thankfully stepped in and made it happen for us. The complementary cornbread muffin with cheese is a nice touch; however, due to the poor service, it arrived with our meal instead of before. Our entire visit lasted nearly two hours, with an additional 20-30 minute wait for the check. Christina 's service quality was not up to par and ultimately dampened our dining experience. Although I cannot recommend Jim 'N Nick 's Bar-B-Q based on the in-person service, the food itself—including ribs, brisket, baked potato, mac cheese, and fish—was fantastic. Consider opting for delivery via DoorDash to enjoy the great food without the service issues.
I love visiting here whenever I'm in town. Excellent food! Friendly service.
Gloria was so attentive and accommodating! I really appreciated her kindness. I love the Buffalo wings! The best I've ever had!
Sure would be nice if they had all the menu items from years ago. don't skip the jalapeno cheddar sausage, it's a must-try!
