Ferme Auberge de Quiers - Compeyre

This our third visit to this lovely restaurant while we have been staying in Camping Peyrelade.It was a warm night so all the meals were being served on the outside eating area, whose back drop drop was to overlook the Tarn valley.All the tables were taken, so if you are thinking of coming to eat at this memorable restaurant then make sure you book. The site has its own web site which has an on-line reservation service, which is very easy to use. They normally e-mail you back within an hour or so to confirm.The food as our previous visits was superb.This restaurant is now permanently on our list to eat at for next year.

La única pega es para encontrarla, pero es absolutamente recomendable. Es casa rural, aunque nosotros fuimos a cenar en grupo. Todo delicioso, buen precio.

During our stay at the mouth of the Gorges du Tarn we visited this auberge twice. Both meals were spectacular and very good value. There is a terrace outside but the weather was too hot for that! It's one of those places where you get what Veronique cooks. On both occasions for us it was lamb - different dishes and both delicious. I understand that it's normally lamb or chicken. I guess that's what they rear up there. The approach road from the south via Compeyre is "interesting"! If your sat nav tries to take you through the village rather than skirting it, switch it off! The auberge is well sign posted from the west of Compeyre but that road was closed during our visits. Don't the French do road closures spectacularly well? Anyway, it is very well worth the excursion into the hills. Don't forget to book.
