We had spoken highly of the service in the hotel and th... read more After staying here two years ago for three nights, we returned with friends during another trip to Como! We had spoken highly of the service in the hotel and the bar! What a difference 2 years can make!! The absolute worst service during our 4...week stay in Italy!! We were wanting some spritz in the afternoon and we walked into the garden bar and as we walked in a rude waiter abruptly stated kitchen is closed We stated we were only after a drink and he allowed us to sit! When another waitress approached and asked us if we wanted a menu, we already felt like we were imposing so quickly ordered 3 spritz and another drink! We were given our drinks but not one single snack with our sprtiz!! We waited as when we were here 2 years ago, the snacks were plentiful! Common practice in Europe is to be served chips, nuts and olives or at the very least one of these when ordering a sprtiz. This is the only place in all of Italy that didn't give us a single thing. When we were given the bill it was 9€ per spritz and without single snack, we approached the waiter at the register who said there were no snacks served at that time and there were different prices for different times of the day. What an absolute joke! We should have known from the start that the lazy rude staff didn't even want us there and that they couldn't be bothered serving us at all and bringing out a bowl of chips was too much work for the useless rude staff! Even after explaining that we had stayed here 2 years ago and had spoken so highly, they continued with their rude antics!

The chocolate cake, apple tart... read more Nice little cafe to have some coffee and cake. The staff were really friendly and recommended some cakes to have with our coffee. The chocolate cake, apple tart and chocolate crossaint were all fresh and really tasty. It was all fairly priced as well.
