Mar's Kitchen - Comfort
Mar's Kitchen
Description
Tucked next to a gas station in Comfort, this cozy Mexican café serves made-from-scratch, wallet-friendly breakfasts, giant tacos (Super, Alex, Maria) and standout salsa and tortillas. Generous portions and warm, attentive service — even occasional freebies — make it a must-stop for road-trippers and locals. Quality can vary: some dishes are overcooked or bland, cleanliness and hours/phone reliability are inconsistent. Overall it's a charming, casual spot for big, affordable plates if you’re willing to forgive occasional rough edges.

The food was exceptional, earning a top rating of 5 out of 5. The Migas Plate I ordered was delicious and definitely worth recommending. The service was equally impressive, also receiving a perfect score of 5. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a cozy vibe that deserves a solid 4. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend!
This delightful little gem is an authentic Mexican cafe. I absolutely loved the salsa, and the service was wonderfully friendly. The dining area was clean and inviting. It's conveniently located next to a gas station, making it a perfect stop. This is exactly the kind of place you want to discover amid the chaos. There are no frozen chain foods here—everything is made fresh, featuring an impressive variety of Mexican dishes and burgers. We will definitely be back!
This place is bad. i went and got tacos. and both were flavorless and small. i tried to support them but if thats all they make. they have no business here
Amazing food. Super taco and chorizo and egg... took a bite before the photo...oops Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
Some of it was really good and some way overcooked and not seasoned well. One of our tacos had egg shell in it. The tortillas and salsa were delicious! The menudo was a bit spicy and then didn't add limes to the bag Togo so if you want it ask before you leave. The cleanliness is questionable. It could definitely use a good cleaning, updated to remove old torn posters and licensing needed framing. It was alright for a small town though. They were very nice and the order was correct.
