Rifugio Col D'la Tenda

Nice place with a fantastic panorama off the beaten down tracks. Worthwhile going there at least once. Food could be better, espresso could be italian :-D but the view and Lemon Soda compensate for everything.

Fermati in questa baita per il pranzo, abbiamo goduto di un bellissimo panorama e di una buona cucina. Rapporto qualità/prezzo nella media , cortesia e gentilezza non sono mancati. Consigliato

As we started our Big ski circuit around Cime (Grande Giro delle Cime) in the morning in Versiaco at lunch time we have already been in Ski area Val Comelico near Padola (already in Province Belluno) to which we came by ski bus Salto from Bagni di Valgrande area. Just close to the top station of ski lift Col d'la Tenda at an altitude of about 2000 meters above sea level we found this, at first sight inconspicuous ski hut Col d'la Tenda. It definitely seemed to be a good choice. Interior of the hut was interesting as well, meals very tasty, prices very fair and service excellent. We tried local specialities, i.e. duo of „Casunzei“ with melted butter and ricotta and Polenta gnochci with „Pastin“ sausage and muschrooms, penne Col d'la Tenda etc. The only negative was that exactly during our lunch the weather and visibility worsened and we could not enjoyed a beautiful view. But to sum it up, I would really recommend stopping here and having some of the delicious meals.

Very beautiful wooden terrace offering an exceptional view on the mountain. The menu card is quite wide and offers a large variety of dishes. Prices are fair compared to other high altitude restaurants. Hot drinks like hot chocolate for example are very good.
