You get a lot more than the menu indicates and if you like your desserts, well they just kept coming don't fill up on bread! Lovely staff and a simple but stylish dining area with just the most lovely views
I would agree with a previous reviewer . Bare tables coupled with a clumsy table setting lacks refinery and some what dumbs down the room which really lacked character and in my humble opinion is not up to Michelin standard .A large mirror looked odd and who really wants to look at oneself eating. . The view over the bay on this wonderful sunny evening is what makes this restaurant truly special. The highs were very high but the lows lacked real thought and in my humble opinion smacked of the chefs ego which lacked a connected understanding as to what is expected of the star dish on any tasting menu when the choice is either fish or meat. I chose fish simple because lamb where i come from our is outstanding while fish can be a hit or miss . The chef on our night choose Monkfish which in my judgement is flawed. They use to make deep fried scampi with it one time for very good reason because no matter how refined you make it or how you try to give it a modern make over it is one step from bouncing off the ground as the the texture is much to firm to the point of chewy. Many dishes were either sent back or just left for good reason .It was bland and will never represent the capabilities the effort the staff put into how this place works I am been kind here for very good reason as i would get up in the middle of the night just to have the dish of ravioli created by the angels in a kitchen where yin and yang were not talking . The saucing was truly outstanding with flavours that are exceptional so it pains me as to whey you choose Monkfish as your showpiece .We had John Dory up the road in your sister Restaurant that was perfectly cooked by a chef who knew to never make a fish so special taste so cheap. We still had a very good night but something irritated me because what might have been .David
