The outdoor seating area is a nice touch, especially for those looking to enjoy a meal by the water. Despite some service mishaps and inconsistencies in dishes like the Chicken BLT or the 1/2 Chicken, there are still plenty of highlights to be found, such as the Carolina Braised Pork, Hush Puppies, and Mac and Cheese, all of which have left customers eagerly anticipating their next visit. Overall, The Eagle offers a warm and friendly atmosphere with generous portions of flavorful food that will likely keep guests coming back for more.
Good quality but the bread is soggy upon delivry. The chicken drum sticks are 10/10!!
I ordered the Chicken BLT sandwich. The bread had a buttery/greasy texture, but it wasn't toasted or grilled, so it ended up completely soggy. However, I was able to salvage the chicken and enjoy that. The mashed potatoes were delicious.
The 1/2 chicken did not come with the hot honey as described and was soggy and oily, so I do not recommend it. I also gave the horseradish mashed potatoes a try, but they were not to my liking. The best part of my order was the Southern Chopped (Full) dish.
The food at this restaurant was extremely overcooked and dry, making it as dry as hell. The sauce had an acceptable level of heat, but the balance of sweet and sour flavors was off-putting. The mac and cheese was almost good, but the cheese was too watery and had a predominant flour taste. The cornbread was incredibly dry, with an okay flavor that could potentially make you choke.
The CAROLINA BRAISED PORK was excellent, Carolina gold bbq is mustard and vinegar based and not sweet like honey bbq. The bun was buttered and so so good. The HUSH PUPPIES were fabulous and the Mac and MAC CHEESE was some of the best white cheddar Mac I've ever had!!!
