We are BBQ snobs!! We’ve tried bbq all over and this is absolutely phenomenal. The family that runs it are so nice and feed you while you wait. They gave us the best slice of brisket we’ve ever tried that absolutely melted in our mouths. This is 100000% our new favorite place to eat. View all feedback.
What Matt Winland doesn't like about Mid-city Garage:
I got take out here a little bit ago, it was a terrible deal. I ordered a full sandwich but what I got looked like half a sandwich. It didn't taste good and it was mostly bread. It's a good location and could be a cool space if it were a betterdeal. Since posting this, Mid City stopped running their own kitchen which could mean an improvement in food quality. I haven'ttried them since they made the kitchen change bec... View all feedback.
They have a new four square pizza and it?s amazing. Margarita pizza(? is stacked (yes stacked wish I had a photo and so good. Dill pickle pizza is delicious. One of the staff suggested banana peppers to make it extra tangy. And the staff are verywelcoming, the drink selection is well thought out. Indoor seating limited but you should definitely carryout from here forquality pizza. Sounds like they underwent some changes, didnt catch all of what they said but whatever they are doing is reallyworking. My first time here from the Detroit area:
VERY disappointed (and sick) after trying this place. The bartenders were very rude after attempting to order drinks multiple times. When they did not have any red win on the menu, we asked what other options they had but with no help nor clear answers. After walking back to our table, the girl stormed out and slammed a 2 oz glass of wine (not what was ordered) on the table, proceeding to storm back in. The food was horrible, cold, and has left all of us feeling sick. Ordering the brisket nachos perrecommendation, they were inedible. The ?cheese? was cold and congealed, completely gelatinous served over stale crumbs from abag of store brand, generic tortilla chips. When we asked if the cheese or nachos could be reheated, the person serving the foodat the window merely responded that her manager would be back soon. She looked at our food, looked at the cheese in the pot, wrinkled her nose, and responded, ?yea that?s cold it doesn?t look good.? She did not offer any remedied nor replacements. WhenI shrugged and said ?ok I guess I just won?t eat this? her only response was to shrug and say, ?sorry.? After only a few bitsof the nachos, I am absolutely nauseous and sick to my stomach this morning. This is likely the worse dining experience I haveever had! Kitchen mishaps happen and I can completely empathize! It?s a challenge to run a restaurant! However, the abysmal andrude staff who refused to help remedy the situation is what made a less than ideal food experience turn amazingly bad.
Mid City Garage no longer operates their own kitchen. Texas Steele BBQ has taken over. BBQ meats were cooked well and very tender but no smoke flavor. Mid City still has a great beer and cocktail list but we miss their previous food offerings. Greatpatio and relaxing atmosphere for enjoying a beverage.
FINALLLY!! A bbq spot that knows what they're doing! Beef ribs are superb ?! Baked beans are good, potato salad was ok though. I like more mustard in mine. I didn't care for Mac n cheese, it had a sweet aftertaste. I like to taste cheesy sharp cheddar and seasonings in my Mac n chz. It was overcooked: . Otherwise bbq slaps! My son's co-worker kept telling us to try it, glad we did : .
This is one of my new favorite places to go for absolutely amazing food. The brisket just melts in your mouth. My family, including my grandkids, love coming here. A night out some friends this is the place to go and get some great food and chill atmosphere.
