It was mostly good. Server was great. Food was decent, we got afternoon tea $78, which includes tax and Gratity. Tea was nice. The sesame rice cake should be changed as if it were honestly just crispy rice and there is no meat, so eating only rice is like why?? Dark Chocolate Tart wasn't my taste. Wish there was a possibility of what kind of chocolate we prefer or even preferences in general. It is worth trying View all feedback.
What Sheldon Hills doesn't like about Holts Café - Yorkdale:
"Old school" steakhouse with minimal frills, so the food has to be shiny! The food was solid, the waitress struggled and our total time in the restaurant was close to 90 minutes - way too slow considering they weren't busy.
Server was incredibly rude. I never asked if we need to refill drinks. I never asked if the food was okay. Ordered a medium-rare prime rib. It came out medium good. My husband's middle rib was much rarer than mine. Just an overall bad experience.
The food was great. We had the prawns and the chicken parm.
As always, the highlight of the meal was the prime rib. That's the main reason I occasionally stop for dinner at Jerico's. The blue cheese salad dressing is so-so and tastes like it comes out of a glass, but the wine portions are quite generous, although the wine list is pretty dated and conventional. And at 77, I just have to have qualified to reach the minimum age for entry! Still, the prime rib is the best in town.!
The food at this restaurant was excellent, but unfortunately the service was lacking. It took a while for someone to greet us at the host station, and even longer for our waitress to take our order. We even considered leaving and going somewhere else. Despite the slow service, the highlight of the night was the delicious food. I particularly enjoyed the prime rib, which was exceptional. I may give this place another try, but was disappointed by the overall experience, largely due to the poor service.
I had been turned off by a few people because I LOVE prime rib. I had just heard great things about the restaurant. Unfortunately the whole experience was disappointing for us. We had reserved at the open table and requested a stand. When we got there, the hostess didn't confirm our reservation when we told her we booked them online and still got us to a table. She was our waitress and was pretty good. The drinks were well made but small for the price. We ordered the prime rib. I got the girls cut and my husband got the kings cut which is about a $ 20 difference in price. When they came out, they were exactly the smaller portion I ordered in length and thickness. We ordered medium rarity (which it came off like), but it had no flavor and was extremely tough. If there's one thing I love almost as much as prime rib, it's ranch dressing. It was chunky and tasted terrible. (and no, it wasn't blue cheese) To get our USD 100 bill at the end of our meal, we were both utterly disappointed with the entire meal. The quality did not reflect the cost.
