We have been here 3 times and we love it. It's rarely crowded and the food is delicious. The spice content is tolerable and not as hot as in other Indian restaurants. I recommend this little hole in the wall every day. View all feedback.
What Terrill Bechtelar doesn't like about Harold's American Grille:
The vegetable momo was outstanding. The garlic nan was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately they ran out of lamb, but my date opted for goat curry and really enjoyed it. The service was very good. I'm looking forward to my next meal there. View all feedback.
I ordered the lobster grilled cheese with a house salad. Unfortunately, the salad was limp and soggy, and the grilled cheese tasted sour and greasy. The lobster in the sandwich was lacking in flavor. The restaurant had flies, and the open front door allowed more to enter. I will not be coming back as there are many other brunch spots in Worthington and the rest of Northern Columbus.
The owner of the restaurant came into our dining area and spoke really LOUD to people at the table next to us about his experiences with the Worthington Zoning Commission. It was very disturbing and boring having to eavesdrop on his conversation because of his loud voice. It made for a very bad experience. Also, I ordered something I once got before (tilapia with broccoli and risotto). Except this time, the meal came out cold and everything was essentially tasteless and bland. The meal was not what I experienced the first time I went.
I was disappointed that when ordering an $18 entree, there was no side salad or bread included. The portion size of the entree (scallops over linguine and asparagus) was very small, with only 2 thin asparagus stalks in the dish. Although the fish was tasty, I did not feel it was a good value for the price paid.
They got my order wrong (and there was one other table in the restaurant). My husband ordered a dinner sized salad that had grilled shrimp on it. It came with three small shrimp. Food was mediocre, my cocktail was fine, my husband said his was the worst old fashioned he ever had.
This restaurant in Old Worthington has the potential to be a local gem. I organized a gathering of friends here on a recent Friday night. Overall, the food was mediocre, with some dishes being served cold and others described as bland. However, our service, particularly from Lee, was excellent, and the drinks were delicious. The restaurant has a great wine selection and fantastic cocktails. I am optimistic for the future of Harold's.
