I have to admit that a lot of my love for this restaurant is based on nostalgia—it was my dad's favorite. When I was living in Savannah, I once drove six hours just to eat here. The restaurant has been a constant in my life, even through difficult times like my father's passing. But setting all that aside, I can say without hesitation that this is the best BBQ in Georgia. What Jazmyn Kuhlman doesn't like about Country's Barbecue Midnight Express:
I ordered 2 quarts of corn casserole to go and when I got home, I saw the containers were only about 2/3 to 3/4 full. Each container was missing at least 2 cups of casserole. So between 2 orders, I got cheated out of 4 cups or 1 pint (half a quart). Not happy. I live in Cartersville and only get to Columbus on Saturdays about once or twice a year. View all feedback.
It's a nice place to visit, but personally I'm not a huge fan of barbecue. The food was still good though. LOL.

We visited our extended family in Columbus, Georgia and had to make our pilgrimage here. It's been over 30 years since I first came here and it didn't change much. In this case, no change is good. The Cue Stew and BBQ Ribs Platter are as amazing as they were on my first visit. I look forward to another 30. I recommend the lightest hottest sauce on the ribs. If you are not too hungry, the Cue Stew is a really good option. And of course you have to have sweet tea. We didn't have room this time, but there's lemon meringue pipe amazing!
I just wanted a side salad and French fries. Love both. My husband had a hamburger he said he was the best he had for a long time. He also baked beans that are the best. We have eaten here for over 16 years and never noticed that the soap box Derby car hangs on the ceiling. He made us home for our hometown Akron Ohio.
Every time we visit Columbus, this is our place to eat. The grill is always smoked for perfection. The Brunswick Stew is absolutely delicious. I had the baked beans and my wife had potato salad as sides. All homemade and not handed over in any way. It's fucking hard to find barbecue that's made so perfect. We'll be back soon.
