Cook's Place Hotdogs - Columbus

We love Cooks! The prices are great and we LOVE the hot dogs! These are awesome! You can't beat their scrambled dogs and sweet tea! Also you get your food fast and they have plenty of dine in space if you want to sit down and relax.

For years we'd heard about the scrambled dogs served here so we intentionally found our way there when passing through Columbus. The 2 young ladies working behind the counter were friendly enough but the highlight of the stop was running into a couple we went to high school with years ago. The chili on the scrambled dogs was tasty enough but not hot enough (temperature-wise), the weiners were cut into bite-size pieces which was a nice plus, dill pickles and fresh chopped onions along with coleslaw were added, but because the chili wasn't HOT enough, it just wasn't what we expected. Since we were traveling, we both went into the restrooms before leaving and there was a urine odor in both restrooms. The concept of the high school memorabilia is appealing probably especially for those who went to school in Columbus but the restaurant looked as though a good scrubbing throughout would be a major improvement. Sadly we agreed we won't go back to this one.

I eat here often. The food is pretty good, but not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination. The people are friendly and the atmosphere is 50 ' Soda Shoppe. The hamburgers are very good, the hot dogs are good, but need some hot sauce, which is on the table. The drinks are self serve Coca Cola products and tea, but good and nasty, bitter Yankee, no sugar tea. (Now, unsweetened tea is unnatural! OH! If you expect to come back often, asked for a punch card. If you purchase 10 dogs, you get one free. I like free. There is a question below about wait staff. You order at the counter and usually it is ready by the time you pay and you get it on a tray. If it 's not ready, they bring it to you. If that 's wait staff , yeah, they have that.

I've dined at both of their locations and have had a great experience at each. The staff is friendly and efficient, and my orders have always been processed quickly with little to no wait time. I've also taken hot dogs home, and when I warmed them up the next day, they tasted just as delicious as when I had them on-site. Honestly, their hot dogs are fantastic!

The hours of operation are very inconsistent, which is unprofessional for a business. I’ve come here twice only to find it closed. You can't run a business like this—it’s simply too unreliable!
