Uprise Bakery - Columbia

Lovely bakery! Everything is homemade with alright prices. Some of the best sandwiches and salada I've tried in my life, and don't forget the cookies too!. Fantastic place to eat, not only for campus students but also for families, etc... I recommend it 100

Really loved coming here because of the lattes food but my experience today put me off from wanting to come back. I moved away and decided to visit while in town. My boyfriend, our dog and I walked in and before we could even put in our order the lady came around the counter and said dogs aren’t allowed in the bakery and that they have an outdoor patio. We explained we just wanted to get a couple pastries to go and not eat there. She repeated in a snide tone that dogs aren’t allowed inside. We just left without spending any money at the establishment. We could understand if we sat inside to then say something but we didn’t even get a chance to order, it felt rude and not welcoming at all.

Lovely atmosphere. The sandwiches were amazing. I got the grilled chicken one. The salad was alright. The pastry was also delicious. The cookies were good.

I think Uprise Bakery is a great place to stop for lunch although I don't get downtown often anymore. I'm really writing this review to praise their breads, specifically rye. I'm old, grew up in StL where there were lots of Jewish bakeries producing wonderful rye breads but I think Uprise's is the best. When the HyVee on Nifong stopped carrying Uprise I was horrified. Now we have to drive all the way across town to the Broadway HyVee to get it. A few times we've resorted to Beefsteak and HyVee's version but no other bakery comes close to the quality of Uprise. Please keep baking!!!

Uprise is a great place to go if you want a coffee, snack, lunch, dinner, and ever drinks. It is also a movie theater which is beyond cool. The staff is always so nice and it is a great place to study, catch up with friends, or even grab some dinner.
