What Yuxi Lei doesn't like about Thai Express:
The receptionist is extremely rude and unhelpful. She ruins everything in this place. Every time I order there she’s uncommunicative, mean and unpleasant. It’s unfathomable that she could still work there. Don’t go! View all feedback.
We had an incredible experience enjoying Thai cuisine at this restaurant. We ordered the Chicken Panang Curry and Tom Yum soup, both of which featured unique flavors. They were served in charming, sealed plastic containers, making for convenient takeout. The Tom Yum soup included lemon leaves, which really added a zesty kick with every spoonful—perfect as a starter! Just be mindful of the spice level, which ranges from 1 to 5, with 5 being the spiciest. The Panang curry was undoubtedly the best Thai dish I’ve ever tasted; the coconut milk helped balance the heat from the Tom Yum soup beautifully. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to return for more delicious food!
The cashier greeted me with warmth and was very attentive when I entered. As for the pad thai, it was just average; nothing really impressed me, and it felt rather generic. On the positive side, it wasn't overly oily, and they opted for jumbo shrimp instead of the tiny ones that are often used in other places. The restaurant has a great location, conveniently situated between MU’s campus and downtown. However, parking can be a hassle—it's best to use the Hitt Street Garage.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Columbia! Came here around 2:30PM it was very chill. Servers were very courteous and attentive, food was amazing. I had ordered the Red Curry Fried Rice with pork and my husband ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken. Both were amazing, we ended up sharing both plates and just eating both simultaneously. Their Thai Tea is amazing and their Green Thai Tea is so delicious! The location doesn’t have a designated parking lot so you will have to park off ninth street or off elm and take a short walk, but it is definitely worth it.
Always great food here! I highly recommend the Pad Thai and the Thai butterfly (similar to crab rangoon).
Great Thai for a great price! Thai Express isn't the fanciest place, but the food is tasty, made with quality ingredients, and is a good price. I love the Singapore Noodles for a bunch of delicious spices and veggies without being too spicy. The pad thai is also good and their curries pack a bunch of flavour. What I really like is the price, compared to other Thai places around town, the meals are typically about half the price. Definitely worth the trip if you are downtown looking for quick Thai!
