What Austin Abraham doesn't like about Sycamore:
I wish I had taken the server's advice regarding the food. He recommended against the Gnocchi (as a vegetarian, my options were limited). Unfortunately, it wasn't very impressive – too mushy and chewy, and lacking in flavor. On a positive note, the appetizers and my partner's salmon were excellent. View all feedback.
Lovely atmosphere, great service and pretty good food. My chicken sandwich was huge and cooked very well. Appetizers were good and the fries were perfect. Wife says the ice cream was too boozy though (that's a her thing though) and we both thought the apples were undercooked. Overall a nice meal.
After finding The Vault hosting a private party and Velvat Cupcake closed, we stopped in Sycamores for a drink. We had excellent service and found the wine, and beer selection very good. Our bartender made great suggestions and paid attention to us without being over bearing.
I would just like to say that our server was phenomenal even with all the mishaps with the kitchen and serving such a large group. She was great and we all left amazing tips for her! The food here was pretty great! For appetizers we ordered the pork sliders, cheese curds, Parmesan fries, and veggie crab cakes. The pork sliders seriously need to be a dish all on their own because they were so damn good. Like seriously, it was mouth watering and so crisp and flavorful! The fries and the cheese curds were good too, however, we did have issue with several batches of fries coming out cold, but when they were hot, they were so good and with the house made ketchup, it just took them up a notch. The cheese curds have a little spice to them and I loved that. The veggie crab cakes were not that good but that’s okay be the rest of the appetizers we tried made up for them. As for drinks, I ordered the Rose Garden and the Hannah May! Both of these drinks were absolutely amazing. The way the flavors mixed and the body that they had, it was so good!! If I lived closer, I’d come back for the drink menu alone. And for entrées, I ordered the scallops with roasted peanuts and noodles. This was my first time having scallops, so I didn’t have many expectations but god these were so GOOD!! Like, I seriously contemplated ordering another plate of just the scallops alone! The roasted peanuts and the spices added the perfect crunch to the top of the scallops. I would definitely come back here, such a good place to eat and drink for sure!!
Food and staff were very good. Gnocchi and Chipotle bean soup were fabulous. Great restaurant in a great location. I enjoyed the interior and ambiance. Definitely worth a visit.
Stopped in for a late supper after the Living Windows Display. We we quickly seated and served. I had my all time favorites: Beet Salad and Oyster small plate. As good as I remembered!!! Hubby had Cesaer salad and Calamari small plate and enjoyed his too. Decided to be adventuresome and try a fancy cocktail--tried the Winter Sunset (I think) with pear infused vodka and pomegranate syrup--delish! Definitely a great date night!
