The cookies I got for the holidays previously were very good. Just tried their grilled Tuscan chicken salad and I’ve found my new go to place! It tops any grilled chicken salad I’ve ever had! I love eggplant but only ever can find it fried and my body can’t tolerate high fat. This actually has grilled eggplant in it! The chicken and the portion size for the price is worth it to me!Also got a mini strawberry shortcake... View all feedback.
What Marjory Fay doesn't like about Bonheur Patisserie And Deli:
I went in this morning 9/5/23 got 2 butter croissants. They're gigantic!!! That being said they were not cooked all the way through they smell like flour yeast. Normally they'd be nice flakey but these were like damp dough after all the wet ingredients have been mixed in. At almost $9 for 2 considering that they're not going to be able to get eaten was a waste of money for me. HOWEVER, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS FANTAS... View all feedback.
I heard good things about their pastries, and finally tried one. I'm pretty certain that their cherry danish is THE best cherry danish I've ever eaten in my entire life.I don't live in the area, but do get over that way at least once a month, and you can bet that Bonheur will now be a permanent stop when I am in Columbia. So good!
I had the best experience here! The owner is such a kind man, he suggested his favorites, as I asked and we chatted for a bit about his beautiful home country, Morocco. The sand which was amazing and the desserts were decadent. Will ABSOLUTELY be back for more!
Upon entry I was impressed by the large, sparkling display area filled with fine-looking goodies baked on premise hours before. Disappointment followed. First, the cashier advised that the scrumptious Belgian Cream Puffs I had come for, after reading a Bonheur review. were not available. Nor had they ever been in her year-long employment there. I settled instead for Danish pastry and croissants. The Danish exceeded my limited expectations owing to its subtle, perfectly-sweetened apple and cherry toppings. Yet the thick layers of baked dough below was weighty and much unlike thin, flaky layers found in Denmark and beyond. Our biggest disappointment was the croissants; biggest, heaviest I 've encountered anywhere. Each 7x4x2 , 9.9 ounce slab was a meal unto itself . . . a dry one at that. Again, little hint of delicate flaking found in French baking I am familiar with. One nice surprise was the poppy-seed bagels I purchased to-go in desperate hope, knowing I could not soon get replenishment from a Baltimore 's Best shop These newbies were very good in taste/consistency, perhaps as good as any I 've had in the Columbia area. Too, they were the most costly I 've bought in any Maryland bakery. Bonheur is a very good American bakery, but seems a Patisserie in name only.
The owner was wonderful and kind, and the pastries are delicious! So glad we found this place. Instead of generic grocery desserts and pastries, we’ll get them here. They also have salads and sandwiches so we’ll try those next time!

Maybe lower the temp bake a bit longer, thank you!Very Respectfully,An Avid Baker
