The staff here are very knowledgeable, particularly when it comes to vegan options. If they say "all vegan," you can trust that they know what to do. However, it's worth noting that the baklava is made with vegan butter but does contain honey. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Heart Of Jerusalem:
I really love The Heart of Jerusalem, especially their falafel. My only complaint is that they include yogurt in the baba ganoush, which makes it not vegan. Additionally, the gluten-free options could use some improvement. View all feedback.
I wasn't too hungry when we went, but I still thought it was very good. Fresh falafel, tasty pita bread and hummus. The baba ghanoush is great along with the dolmas. All around a great place with cozy interior and kind staff.
The falafel brought me an immense amount of joy in a really stressful day. I also asked the server about taking milk on the menu and they were really helpful what items were vegan and/or vegetarian. the service was definitely on the slow side, but it was pretty busy and waiting was worth it:
I enjoy Heart of Jerusalem, especially the falafel. My only complaint is that they put yogurt in the babaganoush, so not vegan. The gluten-free options also leave something to be desired.
Heart-shaped falafel and the best grape leaves I've ever had. her salbeitee is great and it is easy to find many fully plant-based options here!
Take a seat to a taste of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. The prices are quite reasonable, but the food is excellent. We ordered the following: Turkish coffee (a little rode, but packed the stamp that was needed) garlic fries (fresh, hot, well made) Falafel Gyro (falafel is fantastic, highly recommended) beef and lamb plate (very tender, some of the best cooked and seasoned meat (not dry) I might have ever had in a middle eastern restaurant. Hummus was also really good, easy to clean but good taste anyway) Note: from all the things that were easy or not good as they made their Tzaiki. The cucumbers in him were strange and the taste was not what you hoped. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to the café and recommend that you stop. I was a little nit picky here, it's a great place and you will definitely have a great time. Enjoy!
