While the service was a bit slow on trivia night and not particularly attentive, I understand that it might have been due to the current challenges we all face in the world today. However, my experience on Sunday was much better—the hostess was attentive every time I walked by. The drag brunch was an exciting event. Although it took a little while for the food to arrive, it was well worth the wait. During that day, I learned a lot more about Trapezium, and all of it was positive. They opened around the time of the pandemic, so I can imagine they've faced some growing pains, which is completely understandable. Additionally, they seem to be very supportive of the LGBTQ+ community, which I admire. They even opened their brewery for Tricities Pride Inc. to host an event in September. It was heartwarming to hear how Trapezium stepped up to help during some challenges the community was facing. Overall, this brewery is fantastic, with wonderful support for the community as well.

However, she then stated that they would need our seats and seemed to wait for me to get up. I noticed that the area wasn’t crowded yet, and other families were comfortably sitting in the other cushioned sections. This made me feel singled out, reminiscent of a time when Black individuals were unwelcome or relegated to specific areas, especially since I was the only Black patron outside. After checking with my waitress to ensure there were no reserved sections for trivia night and that anyone could sit wherever they liked, I politely approached the woman again and informed her that we were not participating in trivia and had no intention of leaving our table. Once we were finishing up our meal and I went inside to pay, my waitress offered me an apology. This response felt even more frustrating since it seemed like her concern was driven by the desire for a tip, rather than genuine care for the situation. Why didn't she apologize at the moment it happened? More importantly, why didn’t she speak up or involve a manager to address this woman’s inappropriate behavior? When such incidents are ignored, they become normalized, and as paying customers, we should not have to endure harassment from others in the establishment.

The bartender was friendly and served the beers promptly. I ordered the Monterey pizza, which was just okay—the crust was burnt and the toppings were a bit soggy. I'm giving it four stars for the delicious beers, though. The interior of the brick building was really interesting; I was told it used to be an old cigar factory.

Trapezium boasts an impressive selection of handcrafted beers, with my personal favorite being the Lucky 46 New England IPA. They generously provide free samples to help you choose your drink. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and quickly seated in the cozy, rustic dining area. The venue features several large TVs for sports fans, and during past visits, I've enjoyed live entertainment as well. When the weather is nice, they have a spacious outdoor dining area complete with multiple corn hole boards—there's always something happening here! Their specialty is brick oven pizza, which they excel at, and they also offer a range of appetizers, including chicken wings and salads. Every time I've visited Trapezium, the service has been consistently great and genuinely friendly. Tonight, Jasmine took excellent care of us!

We opted for the outdoor seating area, which was delightful. It was a beautiful day in Petersburg. Our server welcomed us warmly and was cheerful throughout our visit. The wings were cooked perfectly; my only gripe was that I couldn't really taste the sauce, but that didn't stop us from enjoying them. The pizza had the charm of a homemade, wood-fired pie. We ordered a specialty pizza, and it was cooked to perfection—light and not at all doughy. The only thing they need to improve is making sure to slice it carefully before serving.
