Kyoto Sushi 8 - Colonia

Had the absolute best dining experience of my entire life tonight. From the second we walked in the door, we were treated with so much kindness and respect. The staff is beyond friendly and super helpful with menu recommendations. We were given a free appetizer AND dessert and not a single detail was over looked from the customer service, to the presentation of the food and everything in between. We?ve eaten at a lot of sushi restaurants and this one, hands down, outshines them all HIGHLY recommend!!!

Manna Sushi is a tasty, generously portioned, and friendly family-run Japanese restaurant. Thanks to Google Maps and the 4.9 star rating for this establishment, my family and I discovered Manna Sushi during the COVID-19 pandemic. Back then, they were only serving take out and I enjoyed the high quality and generously large nigiri sushi pieces all at a reasonable price. The dining room just reopened on 04/03/2022 after being closed since March 2020. It was my wife's and my first time dining in here and it was a pleasant experience. I ordered the Sushi Deluxe (10pc nigiri sushi with a yellowtail roll, upgraded from the regular tuna roll for a small surcharge) and my wife ordered their Chirashi. Every piece was delicious and larger than expected. The presentations for both entrees were quite entertaining and mood elevating, as seen in the attached pictures. Both orders came with miso soup and a side salad. They also provided a complimentary shredded kani on a fried crisp starter along with complimentary mochi ice creams and candies after our meal. If you order hot tea, they provide free refills. I mentioned it was my birthday the day before and they were nice enough to bring out an extra treat. We chatted with the owner and realized it's a family-run business and they had to close just 5 months after opening due to COVID. We're thankful that they were able to survive! The employees here are all family members and are very friendly, warm, and provide excellent service. This will be our new family sushi spot from now on. There is free parking here, no wait (we went on a Wednesday evening), have a restroom, and they accept credit cards. If you're in the area and would like sushi, I highly recommend Manna Sushi for both pick up and dining in. You'll be pleasantly surprised like we were.

I give the food a B- However, my friend gives it a B+ My order: lunch specials: cali roll was good, eel was skimpy and 1 pc had NO eel, spicy yellowtail was Fresh, but lacked Spice. Her order: shrimp tempura roll (good), sweet potato roll (good), spicy yellowtail (fresh, but missing spice). Presentation was great! Plate comes with a really cool faux flower with LED light. Grade:A Environment was clean and the staff were kind. Grade: A+

Dropped by for lunch with my husband. The food was delicious! Sushi was fresh and expertly prepared. Staff was wonderful too, very nice and welcoming!

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Got the sushi lunch special which came with soup and sald. Both very good. I got the shrimp tempura roll and spicy tuna roll. My boyfriend got the boston roll and cali roll. Everything was very good and fresh. Its a cute place with high sushi bar seating as well as regular tables. The waitress and sushi chef were quick and very nice. Its nice to have a good spot so close. They also have hibachi dinners and other kitchen dinners.
