My new immediately favorite restaurant here in colombo is that I have everything about healthy vegan. I eat breakfast and lunch every day.
We’ve visited Ranbath twice, so far, and will be back many more times before we leave Colombo! For just 350 rupees, they offer a lunch of red or white rice with 5 curries from a selection of perhaps 10 or more curries. When we visited, only one dish (a rice dish) was not vegan friendly, due to ghee, but the people working here are happy and able to advise. We loved having the pick of so many green veg, after finding these scarce on our recent travels around India, Nepal and Sri Lanka, plus the dishes are full of spicy flavour! You can eat in or take away. The restaurant is proudly plastic free (and organic) food served on a clay dish and leaf to eat in, and in a leaf and cardboard box to take out. Note there are items in the menu displayed behind the counter that are not vegan friendly, so do ask if you’re unsure. Very highly recommended!
After spending almost half a year in total in Sri Lanka, I finally found my dream restaurant. It's all organic, virtually completely vegan, super delicious, local, seasonal, aware, healthy, transparent, friendly and affordable. Fantastic (red) Rice (5x) Curries served on a lotus leaf for lunch and dinner for 350 rupees. But they also have an expensive list of other dishes. Mouth watering sago desert made this visit incredible and I'll definitely come back again.
I had ordered UberEats until I realized how close it is to my work. Delivery or diving, this place is spectacular. Delicious, nutritious, cleverly prepared and friendly/efficient service. Probably my favorite rice and curry pot in Colombo. Keep the amazing work!
