this is the best Indian food companion in the city! beautiful, quieter place with light music and the food quality is always fantastic! owner is a nice person with a class and he keeps the place very good. now in a new position on wellawatta. I have visited mathura for 15 -16 years and they still have the same taste! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mathura:
read some bad reviews about this place, but honestly it was good. I went about 11 o'clock on a Sunday morning and it was dead and that was not outside, but that was not important how I am vegan and much of the product is cooked in ghee. I asked what was not and got a good choice. they cook in vegetable oil instead of cocosnus. had aloo gobi and a chipati and asked for it spicy and it bleeded my mouth away, excellent!... This South Indian restaurant, which served a pure vegetarian eating, such a beautiful ambiente and inspired by the Bollywood style, and also follow the Indian culture. in the background very slowly old Bollywood music. kishor kumar music there is a special taste in it. food quality is amazing service super ambiente excellent total 5/5
Ordered the North Indian Thali and special biriyani it is tasteless. The biriyani is dry and they only give what they call is a raita but it is just some curd. There is no curry so one has to order it. Very disappointing. I would stick to Sri Vihar, their food is tasty and good quality and also reasonably priced. Value for money is sri vihar. This is the first time and the last I try Mathura
I've been to their previous branch too.. nice place, the new place is a little lit up and looks bright.. food is nice.. not very pricey.. friendly staff.. have a parking space.. They have tasty vade and I like their sambols Well here's an update, Ordered their Biriyani with cashews which...
I tried South Indian Thali in Mathura. Food quality is good, clean and service is good. But I will never suggest people to take south Indian Thali from this restaurant. If you are a fan of South Indian food, better try with Sri Surya's from sea street and Shanmugha's from wellawatta.
Went there on Saturday night and enjoyed some tasty Indian food and quick friendly service. As soon as we entered the restaurant a waiter come and took us to a table and offered the menu. We Ordered gee dosa and paper dosa and paper dosa. Both arrived in around 15 – 20 minutes and it was one of the best dosa we had. Not oily, nicely cooked and accompanied with tasty curries. Then we had Gulab jamun which are one of the tastiest as well as sweetest. ; Ambience is calm and ideal place for a good relaxing dinner with family or partner or even with friend.
