If you don’t want any coolness enforced on you and don’t want any noticeably good or bad things to distract you from the company you’re with, this is the place you’re looking for. You might think that if a bar is around for more than 20 years as this place is, it must be doing something right! The characterise it, there is something odd about this place in all aspects. McLennon? Sounds familiar and somehow classic, but too far-fetched to actually make sense. It also has no intention to appeal to fans of the 60ies and classic rock, but instead provides a touch of international classiness through laid back jazz trio music, which, if you’re alone and actively listen like I did, turns out to be repetitive drizzle, the likes of Hotel Bar Music Vol. 5. It is a distinctly uncool place with the charm of a lobby, offering itself as a cocktail bar with colourfully lit shelves of glass and bottles but also serving burgers and sporting a beer garden style row of tables on the street. You’ll be sitting at the crossing between two two-lane city streets. One being the near-dead drive-through section of the ring street and the other being the connector of motorway 57 and western central city. The burger I had was very good. Of course, where in newer burger places you get a wide range of choices, including vegetarian options, the only burger on offer here which is not a meat patty, is, well, “schnitzel”. To sum it up: McLennon is a four-star nothing to complain place.

Great place for a strawberry daiquiri or even just a beer. Owner looked after a large g group of us very well.
