At first we looked at the Basilica of St. Gereo... read more When we got up at lunch, we wanted to go to a cafe later. Therefore, we – my buddy and I – had waived a dessert. At first we looked at the Basilica of St. Gereon. It's an imposing church. Among other things, she has an honorary title because of her meaning: in 1920 St. Gereon became by Pope Benedict XV. Today we have looked at the windows for designs by Georg Meistermann and Wilhelm Buschulte. Then we had the pleasure of coffee and some cake. Nearby there are Belgian pancakes Creative. But the shop had closed because of the “Brückentag”. So we walked further towards Ebertplatz and Eigelsteintor. There are a number of gastronomic plants. We went to the first house on our way and that was the cafe bar “three quarters”. Ambiente It is a small business. Idirectly at the entrance are the cake counter and some seats. Most of the shops will take place outside the pedestrian area. There was no table free and so we sat inside – there was almost everything free. The tables and seats are not particularly cozy. There is not much to see on decoration. Cleanliness Everything worked neatly well maintained. Service Two young women worked in service. They were friendly and brought us cakes and drinks. We had the offer to explain briefly to the counter. The card(s You can taste different breakfasts here, get small dishes for lunch and just coffee and cakes. Some even vegan prepared. The tasting food We chose a piece of raspberry Philadelphia cake and a flat cake from which I have forgotten the exact name. Both pieces looked delicious and were well prepared. Torte – 3,10 € The biscuit floor was not too thick. He was loose and fresh. The filling consisted of fresh cheese. The cream content in it was not very high; because the mass was rather compact than creamy. But that was not a mistake, I just noticed. Raspberries were plentiful. On top was a casting layer with also pieces and juice of raspberries. Probably with Agar Agar or another vegan algae. Cake – 3,30 € Here, a Mübeteig soil was chosen as the basis. He was loose and slightly crispy. Thereupon a fresh cheese layer was also applied, which however fell out compactly and flat. Red and dark berries (Johannisbeere, Heidelbeere were inserted here. Both packs met our expectations. Drinks Caffe Latte – 2,70 € Cappuccino – 2,40 € Result 3 – if it results. All the products we tasted were neat. So nothing speaks against the place. But the interior of the cafe was rather simply equipped for me and not especially original (as a flower vase served a lemonade bottle with flowers in the “final phase”.
