Lovely cosy cafe with very good coffee (using proper espresso machine unlike rest cafe with automatic espresso maker). Best price and genuinely nice senior lady running, as she didn’t mind when I brought a danish from next door French bakery which she doesn’t have. Seems to have regular patrons. Space for around 10 people. A must try in Cologne if you are in the neighbourhood.

To the Epi: The owner has founded the chain Billy Back, frozen on site; from all over Europe. Today, this chain operates under Middelberg, the founder has sold this concept to the bakery Middelberg and is still involved. He then founded the epi; the same concept, frozen baked goods in stores. But Premium. 90% of the goods offered do not produce Epi itself. The breads are made with ready meal mixture; croissants; Brioche etc. purchased as frozen goods. The villages come from the patisserie Walter patisserie.de; also not made themselves. The whole is fairly well marketed we produce handmade with good Isigny butter etc. but the website has recently been pointed out that not everything can be produced itself, but the partners do not compromise. Very smart. So, quality is not bad, but unfortunately this is another smart marketing concept that has to do with craftsmanship nix and makes no pleasure for craftsmen among bakers/patisserien. Honestly would be better, but with the statement on the website you are on the right path.
