Visited as 2 couples and got seated in a booth at the front of the restaurant. The service was prompt and very friendly and continued to be excellent throughout our meal, even with a tasting of the slaw before completing the order. We ordered 3 steaks from the fixed menu with various starters and a chicken salad with fries. All the steaks were ordered with different levels of cooking and all were perfectly cooked. My mussel and chorizo starter in a picante sauce was excellent as were the spicy chicken wings. The half ramikin of potato and the single onion ring with the steaks were a bit disappointing. The wine selection is amazing and can take some reading through as I would estimate over 500 different wines. Our glass of house sauvingon blanc and bottle of house rioja were very good. It's nice to see on the menu wine recommendations to accompany each dish. The venue is large but is nicely split into different dining areas inside and out with a tented area at the back which had live music when we visited. The lack of soft furnishings inside does mean that noise carries and we experienced an hour or so when the noise level was so high we had to shout between ourselves to be heard. Overall a very pleasant evening and we will return. 2 courses plus drinks 185e +tip.

Overall having made a 20 minute drive to this restaurant, we were quite disappointed with the food. 3 out of 4 of us were more than disappointed with the starters and main courses. I ordered tandoori prawns which had little flavour and were served on lettuce, making everything just a bit warm and soggy. My main course was cod, which was overcooked and dry and had very little sauce. My friend ordered the jambalaya which was stodgy and overcooked and everthing was served in deep bowls, including lamb shank, making it all just a bit awkward to eat. My husband had the duck which at €33 was a small portion but tasty. The restaurant itself is lovely, good atmosphere, and busy. The staff were friendly, but little details such as not clearing glasses, not lighting candles, made for a quite disappointing experience despite it being a pricey evening. The wine menu is like a yellow pages, almost impossible to go through it all. I hate to say but overall very disappointed with our first and last trip to No. 3
