Just spent an extended weekend there. Stayed in the BackStage cabin. SO great! I have to say we were a bit skeptical in the beginning because we have had some bad experiences at some other campgrounds. But we had such a great time and met some really awesome and friendly people. The residents there are so welcoming and kind. Roy is so personable, and easy to talk to, George was very friendly. The food was so amazing!... View all feedback.
What Ryan Mattioli doesn't like about The Hideaway Campground:
I had a pretty bad experience living here as a long term resident. They threatened to sue over my previous review, so here’s a censored one. The sites do not have gravel pads, it is sand. The roads are also sand and that gets in your trailer. It’s quiet most of the time. They are very involved in how the campground is run and at times this means they will tell you how your site should be set up. I was not impressed b... View all feedback.

I went there on August 28th for a day pass just to check it out everybody made me comfortable I'm real shy I recently have accepted and I'm gay and I wanted a start being around I don't gay men and I had a really good time the short time I was there and plan on coming back Memorial Day weekend I mean Labor Day weekend and keep going back as much as I can
Had an amazing time. Great staff and residents. Shout out to George mgr for helping us get situated and feeling at home. Left a more detailed review on trip advisor… will be back soon
Had the best time, beautiful campground, the manager George made our stay even better always helping us when needed. Only improvement is signage so we don’t get shouted at by neighbor for pulling in on wrong catfish ln… GPS directs it. And more freedom to come and go late eve. Had to rush back from Savannah to make gate call at 10pm. Small suggestion key tabs to allow entrance and exit. Saw it at Creek Ridge campground in Michigan.. extremely friendly staff and residents. One of our top 5 gay campgrounds.
It was mine and my husbands first time going to an all men’s camp ground. At first we weren’t sure what to expect but quickly we’re surprised. This was hands down one of THE most enjoyable experiences at a campground we have ever had, everything from the staff to the residents were FANTASTIC. We truly loved our visit, so much so that we extended our stay an extra night. We were set right next to the pool which was glorious as it over looked one of the many ponds on site and the pool was a stones throw away. We found out that we came at the tail end of a party they had over the weekend but honestly, it didn’t matters. The residents were so extremely generous and kind, one of them named Ken even gave us a little gift of a painted ceramic camper that we will cherish forever. George was there to answer our every question and need and we never felt like we were without at any point. I look forward to coming back at some point in the future as we made new friends and found a place that we could be ourselves and not worry about a thing. Keep up the good work, can’t wait to see y’all next time.
