Normally I go to this bar for a drink. Last time we went there for their steak night on Thursday. It was a delicious $18 steak. Tonight we went for their lamb shank’s night (Monday). $15 the lamb shanks with mash, $20 with a glass of red. We ordered chips and salads to share. We were all happy with our meals. The service was outstanding. Highly recommended View all feedback.
What Carolanne Barrows doesn't like about Grace Darling:
I would like to review the GD in two separate sections, because I really think the bar inspection deserves four stars. It is such a relaxed and warm place with... View all feedback.
Had dinner here. It was selected by our local friends on the recommendation of their son. Dining area slightly separated from the bars, which helped to soften the doof doof music. A$260 for the four of us with main & dessert, a bottle of red and a couple of beers.
We dined here for a work function in a large group and were seated in a large outdoor area. The special lunch menu had 6 different meal selections all for $15-20 with an included pot of beer, cider or soft drink. The Grain salad was something different and quite healthy. The whipped goat's curd and maple cider vinaigrette were a welcome accompaniment.
Laid back venue, great tunes and drink selection. Easy way to spend an hour before dinner or a late drink after. Reasonable easy parking later in the evening.
We had a lovely night here at a Scarf dinner. The food was lovely. My trout for entree and beef cheek for main were very tasty indeed. The latter was just the remedy on a cold wet Melbourne evening. A very hearty dish and a nice generous serve. The service was lovely here, from both the trainee and the professional. They were happy, efficient and attentive. Loved their work. This was a lovely night. We wandered off to catch the number 86 thinking the world was pretty OK.
Really interesting pub located in Smith St. Looks small and pretty uninteresting from the outside but inside it's dark, moody, candle-lit, atmospheric and full of character. The staff are very helpful and happy, you can eat overlooking the kitchen which looked great, there is a mezzanine restaurant that used to be full of hanging plants which looks a bit stark at the moment but I was assured the plants were coming back, in the basement there is a private room with bar and upstairs there is a huge area with fireplaces that used to have all the happening bands playing. Outside area which makesd for great people watching. Loved it!
