On the recommendation of a colleague, I visited here to buy some takeaway food. I was surprised by the huge range in the menu, and the food was fantastic.
The food was amazing hadn't been here for a long time. Had green chicken curry (Yummy). Service was great and the food came out quick.
It's always a pleasurable dining experience at De Oriens, awesome customer service & the great variety of food is excellent.
There are too many choices on the menu as this restaurant tries to cover all Asian cuisines and an Australian option. We dined in and chose Vietnamese prawn spring rolls, Japanese California Rolls and fried rice. Our waitress brought menus and water with two glasses and asked if we would like drinks. Choosing soft drinks they were brought out in a bottle and a can, no straws or glasses, we had to request these. The food arrived quite quickly, the spring rolls were chewy, so they had been pre-made, with only noodles and a couple of prawns, no greens at all for crunch. The 9 California rolls were not freshly made, and of uneven thickness, and three of these were actually a small scoop of rice with a flattened prawn on top, which also were not freshly made and dry. The fried rice was steamed rice with saffron added to make it yellow and heated through with a few uncooked peas and a few specks of carrot.Although the meal was okay, I wouldn't say it was anything special, especially after the recommendations from the people who live in Collie.
