Removed: Velvet Taco - College Station

I ordered the falafel and Nashville hot tofu tacos at this restaurant! The falafel tacos are already vegan, and the Nashville tacos can be made vegan by asking for no ranch crema. The falafel tacos were pretty good, but the hot tofu taco stole the spotlight. It was wonderfully crispy and delicious, with a perfect balance of pickles and slaw. It was a very satisfying meal for a quick, chain restaurant taco option.

This restaurant should not even be included on this list. They offer only four vegetarian items that have to be specially requested without sour cream or cheese. The manager became defensive when I asked for my tacos to be remade correctly without cheese.

The Nashville hot tofu, made vegan, was decent but could use some improvement due to the limited options for ingredients. Obviously, paneer is not an option for vegans. The falafel was disappointing. It would be great if they added vegan tacos to the menu, as well as a rotating vegan special in addition to their regular specials.
