Grandma's Little Bakery - COLLECTOR

While it's not as shiny as it was a few years ago, Grandma's is still going strong with such wonderful food. They use a base tomato sauce that goes into a few menu items, but it's always fresh and soo flavoursome. Can't pick what 'that' herb is - fresh oregano? We ordered the share platter for 2 as entrée - there were 4 of us. It was so big and full of amazing menu items that if we had knows it would be this big, there would have been no need to order mains. The 4 of us were quite well sated after entrée and then enjoyed the quiche, chicken and mushroom and Moroccan beef. All were impeccably prepared, cooked and presented. Wish I had taken some photos. The only thing that let it down was that, even in the middle of a cold winter's day, it was so hot in there that we were all looking quite summery once we had taken all our coats, jumpers, scarves etc off! Lots of people about. Still very popular. Notice they had moved the shop from inside a little alcove to outside in the dining area, which would probably be better for sales, but goods still quite expensive. Will definitely go again.

We've visited Grandma's Little Bakery many times, usually for coffee, but also for a light meal and food to give to family and friends (olive oil, bread and biscuits are great). The service is good or better, the food delightful and the coffee very good. This most recent visit was no exception and, even better, the driveway has been graded, which was very nice.

The Israeli cuisine is incredible, but there are limited options for it in the Sydney region.

I decided to make a quick stop for afternoon tea on our way back to Sydney. We chose to order the scones with jam.
