Freycinet Lodge - Coles Bay

Freycinet lodge is definitely one of the best accomodation in the area. While price is a bit on the high side, it boasts incredible service and location. Quick shoutout to Matt, Hannah and Corey at the Bay restaurant for providing over the top service for our dinner and breakfast the next day. Rooms: 5 Service: 5

Dear Freycinet, Just a note to thank you for an outstanding stay last week. We were pampered at every turn, given an upgrade as reward for loyalty (rare indeed elsewhere) and no effort was spared to make our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Above and beyond even this, the staff were wonderful, with the ever friendly Sam looking after us at each and every turn, and wherever we went there were people to chat to and to enjoy this special place with. Food, room, view, staff all were exceptional; can't thank you enough. Look forward very much to seeing you again on my 12th visit in the hopefully not too distant future. Thanks again, Mick Fendley

First of all, I have to say this is a fantastic location. The views from the restaurant/bar are amazing and fully deserve my 5 stars. The service one night manager was very courteous and helpful and did his utmost to fix our problem. Our problem: the room had CLEAR evidence of bedbugs. My wife is a nurse and knows EXACTLY what to look for and yep, even I could see it. The room the switch is too was the same. BEDBUGS. Hence the night manager being so helpful in finding us n alternate resort to stay at for the night. HOWEVER, when the regular manager came in the next day and spoke with my with on the phone, he basically said he didn’t see any evidence (uh google what to look for, it ain’t hard), and therefore wouldn’t be offering any reimbursement for the inconvenience, let alone the other resort which was cheaper. Hence the 3 stars. Bottom line be wary, but understand that this place is INFESTED with bedbugs. If they doesn’t bother you, enjoy your stay! Just please don’t spread them everywhere else. Hence the 1 star.
