The Dog And Muffler Inn - Coleford

During my holiday at Forest Holidays in the Forest of Dean, I visited The Dog Muffler on the recommendation of the staff. I went for lunch and was impressed by the excellent service and friendly staff. The food was delicious and well-priced. I highly recommend this charming pub to anyone looking for exceptional service and delicious homemade food. Many thanks to the staff for making our visit so welcoming.

Once in a while you have a surprise and this was one of those occasions. It’s one of the best Sunday lunch we have had for a very long time. Looked on Google maps and found the the pub local to us where we were staying. Callled in without a reservation but still managed to get us in 2 adults and a dog they could not be more welcoming I don’t think we have met anyone more accommodating. Before we ordered food a fresh bowl of water and treats for our dog. The food was wonderful so fresh and tasty the manager was easy to talk to and so chatty without being over powering or intrusive. We will be back !

You will probably need a Sat Nav to find this place, slightly off the beaten track. Appeared to be well attended by locals mid week, and the restaurant also seems to be popular The menu appears to be a bit too extensive, would prefer a shorter menu and more attention paid to each dish Nice ‘snug bar’ out the back which leads into a light conservatory, garden also appears to be well kept and would be a nice place to sit in the Sun
