Black Bear Tavern - Colebrook

My husband and I stopped at this restaurant on our way home from Canada and were surprised by what we found. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the prices we paid. Our steaks were a la carte, which meant additional sides were extra. My filet was ordered medium well, but came out practically a charcoal brick instead of pink in the center. Our server Cole, who was an absolute sweetheart, informed me that the mashed potatoes did not have skins, which they actually did. My husband's delmonico steak was flavorless. To top it off, my PB pie had a hair in it. Cole was very apologetic and removed it from our bill, but then we were also charged extra for using our credit card without prior notice. Despite Cole's great service and the two margaritas, we would only give this place a 1-star rating. Sorry Cole, we won't be returning.

⁠´⁠ ⁠⁠ ⁠`⁠ I've lived in NH my entire life and have always enjoyed my trips north. My husband was playing in a softball tournament for the weekend and we stayed at the cutest Airbnb! But...we lved this restaurant so much we visited it TWICE! We are out on the deck both times and had 4 entrees between us, a Delmonico steak, patriot burger, meatloaf and shrimp scampi. Each one was DELICIOUS We highly recommend this yummy restaurant!

This restaurant really hits all the marks when it comes to service and atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. This is an outstanding restaurant with a delightful atmosphere and very tasty burgers. The service is top-notch, with friendly staff. The lunch menu is fantastic, with prices ranging from $10 to $20 per person. The restaurant has a rating of 5 for both food quality and service. There is ample parking available, with a free parking lot for customers to use.

This tavern is well worth a stop! We stopped while on a ride in our ATV on nearby trails. Comfortable and welcoming. My husband had a fish fry- plenty of food on his plate! I had the Cobb salad- did not disappoint. Will go back the next time we're in Colebrook!
