We have eaten here twice now and weren't disappointed. The Leitao is good, with nice big portions. The only negatives we would say is the seating area is quite small so you get cramped together with everyone. Also the sliding main door to the restaurant opens and closes automatically when people come in and out and if its cold outside it can be quite annoying as the cold breeze comes in every time the door opens. Almoço bonito rapidamente e qualidade dada à situação do cóvido a mesa já estava devidamente marcada e para evitar esperar em pequenos e muito solicitados lugares, que estava esperando por nossa chegada) de leito assado acompanhado com batatas fritas e salada e o belo vinho da casa e a simpatia daqueles que nos serviram. Foi muito bom matar a menina um belo leitão assado bem assado sem ter que ir para a baía e com a pele crocante e eu fiquei satisfeito por não ter longe do hotel onde ficamos. no final fomos oferecidos um digestivo pela bondade do serviço bonito fornecido e que bem rematous nossa bela alma.
The suckling pig was served with 85% fat and only 15% meat. I told the cashier when leaving but she appeared indifferent. I left hungry so immediately went to another restaurant. As a result, I ended up paying 2x for lunch!

Sitting away from the door helps with this. The service was also quite slow, you could sit for quite some time before being asked what you want to order. Overall some positives and some negatives.
If you are like me and a fan of crispy pork crackling this is definitely the place for you. Located in the old town of Coimbra it may be hard to find but it is well worth your effort. The best time to eat here is after 1pm. There are less people as most of the lunch time crowd has left. The roast pig is also at its best as the restaurants churned out many piglets to cater for the busy lunch ctowd and for theirvtakeaway patrons. Be warned restaurant is tiny with not many seating spaces so if you come at peak lunch be prepared to wait a bit. You can squueze into a corner and wait until a table or space in the bat is available. Alternatively you can buy a takeaway if you have a place to eat it later. Prices are quite affordable at 20 euros for two glasses of wine, two cokes, one large plate of roast pork served with delicious homemade potato chips and salad), one large roast pork sandwich and all the extras bread, olives and a small plate of croquettas). One kilo of pork for takeaways is approximately 25 euros. Finally, the most important question of all: Is the crackling good? Yes because if you come at lunch or just after the rush, the pig is fresh out of the oven and super crispy. An equally important question: Is the meat tender and juicy? Yes. It is also very tasty as the meat has been marinated prior to cooking. The peppery flavour in the meat is to die for. The same marinade is made into a delicious sauce with the dripping from the roast.
Belo almoço com rapidez e qualidade dada à situação do Covid a mesa já estava devidamente marcada e para evitar esperas em sitios pequenos e muito requisitados, que ficou a aguardar a nossa chegada) de leitão assado acompanhado com batatas fritas e salada e pelo belo vinho da casa e da simpatia de quem nos serviu. Foi muito bom para matar saudades de um belo leitão assado bem assado sem ter que ir à Bairrada e com a pele estaladiça e tive o prazer de ter não muito longe do hotel onde ficámos hospedados. No fim nos foi oferecido um digestivo por gentileza do belo serviço prestado e que rematou bem o nosso belo almaço.
